Third Fall Share

Celeriac, sweet pepper, beets, arugula tomatoes, chard and kale, spinach, salad turnips and frisée. The celeriac, like the celery, grew well this year and we have some big ones. Sweet peppers and tomatoes are making what is almost certainly their final appearances. The arugula is bigger, sturdier leaves, great for sandwiches or sautés but also suitable for salads. Kale and chard are wanting some cooler, wetter weather but that looks like it’s coming and we were still able to get some from the field. Spinach is also on its final week but the chicory is off to a good start with frisée!

Besides harvest and packing shares were not getting much done on Thursdays right now, just a little clean up. Looks like we might have a bit of frost and rain in the forecast so our harvest might look a little different for week three on the B schedule, stay tuned…
