We’re down to the final two weeks of spring. Today share has green onions, salad turnips with greens, snap peas, carrots, arugula, kale and a head of lettuce (not shown). I totally forgot to put the lettuce in the photo but it was a choice of red leaf or green oak. The arugula looks great after that rain, as did most everything else. This first round of carrots didn’t germinate well back in early March so there’s just a few in the share but they are very tasty! It will be interesting to see what the heat does to make next week’s share look different. We’ll be doing our best to get extra water to everything and I suspect most things will be fine with it if it’s just a day or two.
In the field today we managed to knock back a decent number of weeds and get some more of the posts in the ground for trellising tomatoes and beans.
If you’ve already signed up for a summer CSA share, thank you! Emails will be going out soon with all of the details for picking up your first shares in two weeks. If you haven’t signed up yet we still have four spots available on Mondays (or Thursdays if you really need that day). Sign up soon so you don’t miss any of the summer goodness we have coming!
