SNAP and DUFB

For many years now one of the ways our members can pay for their CSA shares is by using SNAP benefits (these used to be known as food stamps). The Pacific NW CSA Coalition has helped simplify this payment method for us in a number of ways, as it’s not a totally straightforward transaction since the money is coming from the USDA and thus there is quite a bit of paperwork to handle. Even better, PNWCSA Coalition has a program called Double Up Food Bucks, which has been paying as much as 50% of the cost of a share when people sign up with SNAP benefits. This makes access to our CSA shares much easier for folks who are already on a very tight budget.

In 2023 PNWCSA Coalition is planning on covering 50% of all shares purchased with SNAP benefits for all participating CSA farms in the area! They are currently fundraising to make this happen and as a 501c3 your donation is fully tax deductible. You can read more about their work and make a donation at www.pnwcsa.org – no donation is too small!
