Here’s my best guess for next week based on the weather forecast and what I can see in the fields: kale or collards or chard, radicchio, red and green mustards, salad turnips, parsnips, and celeriac. We should also have more celery, fennel, leeks, tomatoes, lettuce, sweet peppers, and popcorn ears on the farm stand, as well as grind-your-own polenta corn.
Next week is the last harvest before Thanksgiving, but we’re planning to have the final harvest of the year on the week after Thanksgiving. We’ll try to pull as much of the extra little bits of crops that we don’t have enough of for everyone out of the field that week, too, and put those on the farm stand for folks to stock their fridges.
It was a windy week! Fortunately it didn’t slow us down too much so we were able to get in decent harvests and also get to some little clean up tasks out in the fields.
Quick reminder that this weekend clocks get turned back – which also means it’ll get dark extra early. CSA pick up times are moving up slightly and we’ll have regular pick-up and farm stand from 4-6pm (sunset will be before 5pm!)
