5th Summer CSA Share Predictions

We continue our usual transition period from spring to full on summer crops this coming week and this is a time when it’s particularly difficult to make predictions, but here’s my best guess: head lettuce, summer squash, cucumbers, new potatoes, sweet onions, and chard. The romano beans are on the horizon, as are tomatoes, but I’m not sure if either will be ready next week. Celery was another one we were hoping for but germination was very poor this spring so those plants went in very late and are at least a month or two away from harvest at this point. The chard is a little questionable for the share as it starts to have a bit of trouble with the heat this time of year – we’ll have to see when we’re harvesting if we have enough for the shares. On the farm stand we should have more basil, the last of the collard greens, and extra lettuce.
