The greens are not loving the heat. We actually predicted the plan is to take a break from them for the summer and concentrate on more summery crops like the ones in the share this week.
Today we have beet roots from a variety called 3 Root Grex. Cucumbers continue, as does summer squash. We’re mixing up varieties of lettuce today, clearing out some extras and while we wait for the next round to size up. We’re getting down to the last of the garlic but onions are starting and we have some nice dark red ones this week. Our second round of summer potatoes are Dark Red Norlands, red skin, white flesh.
Looking forward to some cooler days soon but this heat is really helping a lot of the summer crops so there should be more warm season crops soon!
