We did it! With the help of our community & Barnraiser supporters, we have a powerful new tool on the farm: a brand new BCS walk behind tractor with a rotary plow (pictured at work here), power harrow, and flail mower. My friend and farming mentor Josh Volk who is helping at the farm this year, is pictured here making raised beds with the rotary plow. It’s already making things SO much faster, easier, & productive. A big, big thank you to all who helped make this dream a reality!
Also, you can see a brief panorama of the farm in springtime: a mix of overwintered crimson clover cover crop, some freshly prepared beds, some overwintered crops, and a few beds with young spring crops growing. It’s a grab bag of diversity these days, with lots of food coming soon to all our CSA members! Are you signed up yet? Shares start in mid-May.
