5th Winter Share

Leeks, yellow carrots, collard tops, garden sorrel, salsify and popcorn. The salsify is a close relative of the scorzonera, and can be prepared in the same ways. The garden sorrel is a very lemony green, good as a raw addition to salads but a little too intense for a salad on its own. It’s great cooked and added to soups or pureed as a sauce for things like fish or rice (or fish and rice!)

We have one more winter harvest planned in two weeks. I’m hoping for a bit warmer weather by then, maybe even some sun to speed up some of the greens, which will likely be mostly what we have left.
