Predictions for first fall share

Here’s what I’m guessing will be in Thursday’s share: lettuce, kale, spinach, carrots, kohlrabi, salad turnips and sweet peppers. We should have extras of just about everything on the farm stand unless we sell a lot of shares between now and Thursday – we still have 14 shares available so if you haven’t signed up yet there’s still time.

In the field today we were pretty busy harvesting, including harvesting and hanging the popcorn and polenta corn to dry. We’re ignoring the last of the weedy beds in the field while we try to get the corn and beans out while the weather is still dry. There’s also a lot of clean up work to be done, taking down trellises, taking out drip tape, and getting a few cover crops and overwintering crops planted.

I’m still working on the details of a delivery and St. Johns pick up location option for CSA shares this fall. Let us know if you’d like to take advantage of that if we can get our act together.
