Carrots, leeks, parsnips, scorzonera and kale. I’m really not certain on the kale; the greens have been tricky to predict this winter. I suspect we’ll have a number of items on the farm stand which we won’t have quite enough to put in the shares, but it’s possible that some of these might make it in: cardoon, radicchio and mâche.
The first two spring plantings went in on Monday, a crazy warm day for this time of year! Hakurei turnips and snow peas are in the ground now, and the planting will continue every week now until the end of the summer (weather permitting). The greenhouse is starting to fill up again too. Onions and leeks are seeded, the first lettuce, kale, kohlrabi, beets, chard, fennel, and parsley are all up and starting to grow.
CSA sign ups are coming in nicely. There’s still plenty of space in all of the seasons but don’t wait too long, at this rate we’ll be full in less than a month and the spring CSA season start is less than two months away!
