Last Fall Share, Final 2025 Harvest

Just three days before the shortest day of the year and we wrapped up harvest with an extremely soggy one! As predicted, more or less the same share as last week’s A schedule share, with frisée instead of escarole. Instead of choice of radicchio this week everyone got a head of the light green Palla di Neve, one of my favorites for flavor and storage, and a small head of Treviso Precoce.

It was so wet today the only extra field work we did was a bit of harvest for the winter share which start in three weeks, digging a tote each of Isontina and Treviso Tardivo for forcing over the winter break. They’ll sit in relative darkness in a shallow container of water and with a little luck they’ll be perfect for the first week of January.

Winter CSA members should all have gotten an email earlier this week about the first shares in January. If you think you signed up but didn’t get an email let us know. Currently the winter season is full.

Planning for spring of 2026 is underway and sign up for those shares will start at the beginning of February.

Hope you all have a good winter break and we’ll be back at it the first full week of January!
