We’re getting down to the last weeks of summer and the weather forecast is for decidedly fall like weather next week. That will slow the tomatoes and peppers down and may speed the inevitable end of cucumbers and summer squash. Carrots and chard should return to the shares next week and we’ll have more lettuce, I’m hoping just one head, but we may need to harvest two again to keep up. For alliums we’ll have shallots in the share.
In the field we’re working hard to keep the weeds down and to give all of the crops the best chance to size up for winter and fall. We also took advantage of what looked like the last dry, warm weather for a bit to harvest more dry beans.
