The tomatoes and peppers have been loving all this heat and it looks like the heat is going to continue next week. Summer squash and cucumbers like it too but they’ve been producing for a while now so they’re slowing down so we should have some, but maybe not as many as previous weeks. Red beets are on the list and looking at them today there are some big ones out there. We’ll have more lettuce, as usual, and we’ll also be giving out the rest of the red onions, which store well if you don’t have a use for them right away. Chard will likely be on the farm stand again, along with eggplant, basil, and whatever other extras we can rustle up. The you pick section is looking good with hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, ground cherries, tomatillos, cucamelons and lots of herbs like shiso, parsley, and sorrel.

The photo of the field this week is from last week since I forgot to post it last week and I forgot to take a photo today. We got a bit of weeding done today, and planted out frisee and escarole for fall shares. Speaking of fall shares, we still have three more weeks of summer and I’ve been so busy I haven’t been tracking fall share sign-ups for a bit, but I looked today and it turns out we still have 15 more spots available! If you signed up in the last two months and haven’t heard from me, apologies for the slow reply and expect an email from me soon. If you haven’t signed up yet now is a great time to do it. Our Fall A schedule starts at the end of September and our B schedule starts at the beginning of October.
