Predictions for Summer Share #7

Lettuce, cucumbers, summer squash, potatoes, and red onions. Chard is possible and the big question is if we’ll have enough tomatoes ripen to give some of those out! We’ll also keep checking on the romano beans, which are usually reliable and the plants actually look great, but for some reason they didn’t seem to set early beans this year so it seems like it still might be a week or two before we get those. Eggplant and basil should continue to be offered on the farm stand in small quantities.

This past week was a huge planting week! Fortunately Tiiu and Catherine were available to put in a few hours on both Tuesday and Friday mornings and with that extra help we were able to completely catch up on all of the planting! It’s always fun to have old employees come back for a visit, and even more fun when they’re up for helping out! We also snuck in a little weeding time on our regular days, Monday and Thursday so we haven’t gotten too behind in that department, yet. Same goes for tying up the tomatoes and cucumbers as they get taller.
