Lettuce, collards, Yukon Gold new potatoes and French Grey shallots. In week 2 Thursday’s shares got green beans and we should have enough for Monday to get them too, with a little luck Thursday will see them again too. Thursday also saw summer squash on the farm stand since there wasn’t quite enough from the first harvest to go into the shares. I’m hoping we’ll have enough this coming week to make it into the shares but if not it’ll be on the farm stand again. Cucumbers are coming soon, maybe not for another week.
Seeding in the greenhouse has been ramping up for the past few weeks and will continue to be heavy for the next few weeks while we get ready to plant all of the fall and winter crops. Logically that corresponds with more planting in the field, and that in turn means we have a lot of hoeing and weeding coming up. The next couple of months are busy ones while the days are long and warm and plants are growing quickly.
