Choi, green onions, radishes, turnips, peas, kale, collards, green crisp and romaine lettuces. The peas are Oregon Giant snow peas and are great raw just as a sweet snack, and are also good lightly cooked. They are definitely not the typical flat snow peas, or at least not at the point we harvest them. Choi is in the share because it wasn’t going to hold in the field any longer and it won’t be in the B week’s share. Similarly we’ve been having big harvests of radishes and turnips and these are in the share because they just weren’t going to hold any longer. The B week share will probably have a bunch of changes as things are moving fast with the long days and as the weather warms up. Radishes and turnips are still likely as we have new plantings that are coming on. The greens will likely be different as the B week got collards last week, although we’ll probably have a few more on the farm stand.
Speaking of the farm stand, Sarah from Hoverfly Flower Farm has been bringing beautiful bouquets to the farm stand and this evening she left the extras with payment instructions at the after hours pick up in case anyone picking up after-hours wants a bouquet. Our neighbors Golden Age Kombucha have also been stocking their little cooler on the farm during farm stand hours so check that out next time you pick up.

In the field today it was a damp one! We didn’t get any significant rain, but it was enough to settle the dust and make cleaning the veggies a little more involved. Despite the damp I was still able to seed the parsnips, plant a bit of shiso in the you-pick area, and Sara was able to hoe in the hoop house, which is always dry even when it rains. The forecast looks like it’s calling for warmer nights this coming week, something the crops in the field will love!
