Kale raab, chard, carrots, leeks, mache and salsify. That’s what it looks like right now, we’ll see what happens next Thursday. One thing for certain is that it will be the final week of our winter season and it’s actually the same day as the spring equinox!
The weather has reverted to something a bit more typical of this time of year here in Portland, intermittent wet and a little cooler than the previous few weeks. With all of the dry weather, and even a lucky dry weather window today, we’ve been able to get a lot of plants into the ground and they even seem to be growing a bit.
Earlier this week I was able to get the plastic back on our hoop house after it had been off all of last year. That gave us a dry spot to work when the rain and hail showers started up this afternoon, and with a little luck it’s where some of our first crops will get a head start for spring shares.
We still have about 9 spring shares available for the B schedule. If you want one sign up soon. Our spring harvests are planned to start in just 3 weeks!
