Predictions for winter share #4

I haven’t been out to the farm since the snow so this photo is from just before that. I suspect the snow didn’t change much, but we’ll see when we get out there to harvest on Thursday. Here’s my prediction for what we’ll find to harvest: kale, carrots, leeks, mache, beets and radicchio.

After a bunch of dry weather in January (when we didn’t really need it) it looks like it’s going to be wet for a while now. We’ll be doing our best to prepare beds in the field for spring planting which will start very soon now that the days are getting longer.Meanwhile, seeds are popping in the germination chamber and the greenhouse heat mats are filling up with seedlings for the first spring crops.

We had a great flush of initial CSA sign-ups last week when we announced the 2025 spring, summer, fall and 2026 winter shares and they have been continued to trickle in, as is typical. Keep ‘em coming. For now we still have plenty and I’ll try to give the weekly update so you’ll know if we get low – better not to wait though!
