Predictions for Fall Share #2

Apologies for the late post here, I haven’t quite adjusted to the fall posting schedule yet. Here’s what I think we’ll have: fennel, kale, leeks, lettuce, salad turnips. I’m hoping there will be more sweet peppers and maybe even tomatoes. Other possibilities are celery and carrots but they might need to size up a little more before we give them out.

Last week in addition to harvesting the shares we also harvested and hung the popcorn. It was a small crop this year but we should have enough to give out ears later this fall after it dries down a bit. We got some overwintering crops for the spring shards planted: green onions and favas. There wasn’t much time for weeding but the mache did get hoed. The weather forecast looks favorable for getting more weeding and cover crop planting done next week.
