First Fall Share Predictions

Our summer harvests came to a conclusion yesterday and next week we start our fall harvests! Here’s what I’m guessing we’ll have in the shares: Lettuce, kale, spinach, onions, tomatoes and sweet peppers, and maybe the first salad turnips of the fall? There are a few other possibilities and we’ll have to see how the forecasted rain and lower temps play out.

With rain forecasted for all of next week we made a little push yesterday planted a few more items for winter and next spring, did what might be a last harvest of the dry beans, and got all of the polenta corn out of the field. At this point we’re actually pretty much ready for the rain – although a bit more dry, warm weather after this coming week would certainly be nice to see.

If you’re signed up for a fall share on the A-schedule you should get an email today (two actually) with pick-up details for next week. If you’re on the B-schedule expect to see that email next week and your pick-ups will start the first week of October. We still have three spots available for B-schedule shares so sign up for one if you haven’t yet. We also have a handful of winter shares available which will start in January.
