Today’s share is a bit smaller than we hoped for, but still some good stuff in there: sweet onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, summer squash, Romano beans and red leaf lettuce. The bean plants look good right now so I’m hoping that means lots more of these in our future. We may have some different lettuce on Thursday, we’re about to hit a lull in the lettuce due to a bunch of predation in the greenhouse back in June! It was probably mice nibbling in the starts before they had a chance to get going. In better news we got a ton of lettuce planted last week, and today all of the fall and winter radicchio went in the ground!
It was a big planting day. We planted 17 varieties of radicchio, 2 beet varieties and seeded spinach for the fall and winter. After being a bit behind on planting for a while it seems we may finally have caught up. Now we need to catch up on weeding and trellising!
