Fourth Summer Share

In this weeks share: basil, new potatoes, beans, celery, summer squash, lettuce, cucumbers, green onions. The celery is just a few small stalks to flavor a dish as we clean up the plants and we’ll have more later in the season. Beans were a surprise today with the plants continuing to produce. The lettuce today was romaine but there was quite a bit of bolting due to the heat over the weekend so Thursday will see a mix of other types.

As mentioned in the last post, I’m actually writing this from England! I spent the day in Kew Gardens yesterday. The edible garden there was underwhelming coming from our little farm, but the rest of the place was well worth the visit and if I ever have time I’ll definitely go back to see more. It’s not the kind of place you can see all of in one day.
