6th Spring Share

Collards, radishes, lettuce, turnips, basil green onions and arugula. This was the final week for our A schedule spring shares, B schedule’s final week is next week and the share should be similar. Not pictured is Kohlrabi and I’m not sure if more will size up in time for next week’s shares. It’s possible we might have fennel or beets instead. We’re also very close to the first summer squash of the year.

Most of today was harvest but we did get a little field work done, too. The peppers and eggplants are now unburied from the weeds. Our field tomatoes are tied and we squeezed a few more late winter squash plants into the field. The weather looks cold and wet early next week. That will definitely slow down the summer crops and it might be good for the remaining spring crops.

If you’ve signed up for a summer share look for an email next week with details on the start of our summer season, Monday the 26th.
