It’s been a while…

It’s been a while since my last post but I finally got back on the website to clean it up, post new photos, fix some typos, and spend hours staring at a computer. Other than that, a few things we’re excited about…..

We’re excited that we now have a listserve! This means that the power is in your hands! There will be a link on the website to sign up for email lists and there will be an unsubscribe option in our emails! So much better that way and so much less confusing for you!

On the outdoor front we’ve been selling our produce weekly at the farm or as we like to say “making a farm-gate sale”. It’s great fun and we really appreciate our loyal customers who trek out to the farm and brave the cold weather. It’s been going well and we probably have a couple more weeks left in the season before everything (including the pipes) gets a nice freeze. We like the model “farm-gate sale” model and are considering offering a  flexible CSA option that mirrors what we’ve been doing these last six weeks.

In general we’ve been doing a lot of planning for next year already–sheds, maintenance projects, website development, running the numbers on spreadsheets, etc…,  doing business training with Mercy Corps NW, taking workshops, and planning for the expansion of the Cully Community Market (note name change) next year.

But most of all we’ve been enjoying the cold weather and it’s positives–no weeding and slow growth that allows us to sit back, hang out with friends more, make more dinners, and enjoy the harvest.

Let us know if you have any suggestions for a modified CSA type model or anything else that pops up in your mind.

We love you all and we thank you for supporting us this year. It was a great one. We learned so much and are excited for next year and getting more efficient, organized and experienced in the farming process.

Peace,

Michael and Matt
